Description

Pupils learn about biomimicry and innovation. They will learn how to use sources of inspiration to create a range of ideas for a product encouraging children to grow vegetables. The pupils will develop ideas and manufacture a prototype. Variation allows for different material outcomes.

Knowledge of the sources of inspiration and the skills to use these to inform decisions is an important part of iterative design. Pupils have learnt about different sources of inspiration in the Year 9 'Circular Economy' unit and the Year 10 'Product analysis: Encouraging healthy lifestyle' unit. This unit will enable pupils to use inspiration sources which suit the context and client, which will prepare pupils for future interative design and the Non-Examined Assessment.
