Description

In this unit, pupils read a poem 'Unique et spéciale', practising reading aloud a range of previously taught sounds. They respond further to the text by creating their own poems about different animals, in the style of the original, making use of reference resources.

Pupils will already have been introduced to the idea of developing a personal repertoire of favourite French words. In this unit, pupils make further use of reference resources to create their own poem, adapted from the source text. This unit anchors pupils' knowledge of definite articles, adjectives and -er present tense verbs whilst developing their ability to read, listen to, and respond to texts. In other units, pupils will extend their reading of texts and their use of reference resources to personalise their language.
