Description

In this unit pupils will be develop their understanding of computer networks by looking at network models and the tasks performed by network hardware. They will discover the differences between wired and wireless transmission media and the factors that can affect the performance of a network.

This unit builds upon pupils prior experience of networks from KS3. Pupils will learn about the different network models and tasks performed by network hardware. They will learn about network addressing and how networks can be arranged in different topologies. Pupils will explore the differences between wired and wireless transmission media and the factors that can affect the performance of a network.
