This unit progresses pupils' knowledge and understanding of data representations and compression. They will develop their understanding of working with binary numbers and learn how to add and subtract binary numbers. Building upon prior understanding of number systems, pupils will be introduced to the hexadecimal number system and make comparisons between the base-16 number system and the base-2 and base-10 number systems they are already familiar with.
