Description

This unit is designed to develop pupils programming skills in a new engaging context: physical computing, using the BBC micro:bit. They will get acquainted with the host of components built into the micro:bit, and write simple programs that use these components to interact with the physical world.

Applying programming principles developed in earlier units to a physical computing context helps pupils deepen their understanding of how programming shapes the real world. It builds essential skills in problem-solving, logical thinking, and creativity, which are key attributes for success in an increasingly digital society. By connecting code to physical outcomes, pupils gain a richer, more tangible sense of technology’s role in the world around us.

  1. AI and machine learning applications
  2. Gathering data for a model
  3. Training and testing a model
  4. Improving a model
  5. Building a data-driven application
  6. Documenting and evaluating a machine learning model
