Description

In this unit pupils will discover how to use data to investigate problems and make changes to the world around them. Pupils will be exposed to both global and local data sets and gain an understanding of how visualising data can help with the process of identifying patterns and trends.

As pupils encounter more data in their daily lives, it is important they understand how it can be used to answer questions and drive meaningful change. This unit introduces the principles of data science, showing pupils how systematic approaches can reveal patterns and insights that might otherwise be missed. By exploring how data informs decisions within their school community, pupils see the value of evidence-based thinking and develop the critical skills needed to interpret information thoughtfully and responsibly.

  1. Using data to support decision making
  2. Global data
  3. The investigative cycle
  4. Capturing data to investigate an issue
  5. Data cleansing
  6. Using data to make recommendations
