This unit teaches pupils about the physical and human geography of Russia and allows them to consider Russia's role in world affairs. Pupils will draw on their knowledge of climate, forest biomes and glaciers to understand Russia's physical geography and will use their knowledge of population and natural resources to help understand Russia's international relations. Through studying this unit at this stage pupils can see how geography helps us understand current global issues and allows us to analyse future possibilities.

- Climate zones influence global biomes.
- Earthquakes and volcanoes are located at plate boundaries.
