Description

This unit teaches pupils about the development, importance and characteristics of Jakarta, an emerging country/NEE. Pupils will study the opportunities and challenges associated with the growth of the city, considering issues such as housing, services, the environment and sustainability.

Pupils can build on their knowledge of global urbanisation from the previous unit to develop a deeper understanding of the processes and patterns in an emerging city/NEE. In the subsequent unit, pupils can contrast Jakarta with the city of Liverpool.
