Description

This unit aims to take pupils from a rote understanding of programming concepts to a more nuanced understanding of the ways they can choose to write programs. Using a combination of examples and practical activities pupils will gain an understanding of the concepts of objects and classes.

Although it is not on the specifications currently, the topic of object-oriented programming is a useful one to cover with your pupils and will give pupils an insight into a different programming paradigm. This takes them from a rote understanding of programming concepts to a more nuanced understanding of the ways they can choose to write programs. Using practical activities pupils will gain an understanding of the concepts of objects and classes. This is an ideal choice if you want to prepare your pupils for A-level computing or want to stretch beyond standard programming practice.
