Description

This unit, comprising of three variants, teaches pupils about global inequalities in food, water and energy production and consumption. Pupils learn about resource security and about sustainable futures.

This unit builds on the earlier unit which focuses on resources in the UK and enables pupils to develop a broader understanding of global inequalities in resource production and consumption. Having considered the global overview, pupils opt to study two resources in greater depth. This unit can support pupils in the subsequent unit on issue evaluation.

  1. Global patterns of food security
  2. Food consumption and supply
  3. Strategies to increase food supply
  4. Sustainable resource future
