Description

This unit explores correct bodyweight techniques and training for strength, power, endurance, flexibility, balance and coordination. Pupils learn to adapt exercises, stay safe and understand the physical, mental and social benefits of activity.

Pupils will already have experienced elements of fitness training and have improved their understanding of how the body responds to exercise. Later in health and wellbeing, pupils will learn more about setting SMART targets to help motivate and review progress.

  • Pupils know that taking part in fitness activities can have a positive impact on their health.

  • Pupils are able to perform basic exercises to improve fitness such as running or bodyweight exercises.
  • Pupils show ways to adapt exercise to suit their needs and motivations.
