  • Connect: cultural and ethical awareness

Description

This unit will examine socio-cultural factors concerned with sportsmanship, gamesmanship and etiquette in sport to understand the choices made by some sportspeople and spectators.

Pupils will already know how engagement patterns vary based on socio-economic group and the important role the media and sponsorship can play in promoting sport for all. This unit reinforces that knowledge from the preceding units and delves deeper into ethical behaviours. Links from this can be made into reasons for participation in the following health and well-being unit.
