Kin-ball: communicating and solving problems through an inclusive game

Description

This unit explores a variety of tactics and strategies that can be transferred from other team games to kin-ball. Pupils will be challenged to demonstrate and develop their problem solving and communication skills in this unique and inclusive game with three teams.

Pupils will already have developed ways to adapt skills, tactics and strategies from various forms of handball, netball and basketball but this unit requires pupils to learn and problem solve in a different game. This unit provides an opportunity to also learn about how positional play needs to be adapted to a unique game with three teams on the court at any one time. Later in invasion games they will apply more advanced tactics and strategies.

  4. Exploring defensive strategies and kicking
  5. Team play and advanced game strategies
  6. Full context gameplay and review
