Home learning: an introduction to target games

Description

The unit of work will develop pupils' ability to accurately send a ball towards a target. Pupils will learn and apply their developing knowledge of where we send a ball and why, in order to score points to beat an opponent.

This unit will introduce pupils to the skills and understanding required to send an object accurately. The unit will introduce pupils to rolling and throwing accurately towards a target, so that these skills can then be applied later on in simple games activities. The introduction to the importance of sending accurately will ensure that pupils begin to grasp simple concepts for attacking successfully in games.

  2. Accuracy: can you hit the zone?
  3. Accuracy: can you throw accurately within increasingly difficult challenges?
  4. Accuracy: can you throw accurately to score points against an opponent?
  5. Accuracy: can you kick and roll a ball towards a accurately towards a target?
