Description

In this unit pupils explore the factors that determine what people eat and drink. They investigate and plan food for different occasions and celebrations, and make tuna canapés for a party.

The food and drink we choose depends on a wide range of factors, and some of these change through life. By studying these factors, as well as special occasions, pupils' ability to plan and justify food choices for others and contexts improves. This unit builds on Eatwell Guide messaging from Year 2, and in the future units the thread of Healthy eating and nutrition is put into practice to plan meals and snacks for themselves and others.

  1. Healthy meals
  2. Food for special occasions
  3. Making tuna canapés
