Description

Pupils examine what discrimination is and how the law protects people against it, and consider what we can do to create a fairer society and how the UK has progressed in terms of equality.

Building on their understanding of rights and communities from Year 7 and 8, pupils in Year 9 learn about whether people are treated equally in UK society as they deepen their awareness of social justice, inclusion and equity. This knowledge helps them recognize discrimination including different racism, appreciate and value diversity, and advocate for a fairer society.
