  • Active citizenship, making a positive difference

Description

Pupils are introduced to what an active citizenship project is, how it should be structured and the skills they need to complete one.

Building on their learning of how they can make a positive difference in their communities this unit continues to develop pupils’ knowledge of social issues and the role citizens and organisations have in creating positive change. This knowledge helps pupils to understand how citizens can work together to improve communities and wider society and how they can make their voice heard by those in positions of power.

  1. What is an active citizenship project and what skills do I need?
  2. How do we decide on the issue to investigate?
  3. How can we carry out research for an active citizenship project?
  4. How can we plan our active citizenship project?
  5. What are the different types of campaigning methods we can use?
  6. How can we measure the impact and success of our action?
