Pupils develop their knowledge of democracy and the different types of democracy considering the strengths and weaknesses of the UK system.

Pupils learn about the strengths and weaknesses of the UK democratic system and build on their previous knowledge of basic political concepts and structures. This unit deepens their understanding of democracy, encouraging critical thinking about different types of governance and how democracy can be strengthened.
