Description

Pupils build knowledge and understanding of political systems, government, voting and elections. Pupils consider the vast range of political roles, exploring the impact that these roles can have across local communities and wider society and how they can get involved in politics.

Building on their growing knowledge of democracy, this unit further develops students understanding of political systems and civic engagement. The unit provides insight into how the UK political system and political systems around the world operate and examines the skills needed for a variety of roles within politics. This knowledge helps them to recognise the distinct roles and responsibilities within politics, fostering informed and active citizenship.
