  • Active citizenship, making a positive difference

Description

Pupils consider what role they can play in their communities from school to local and national democracy.

Learning how young people can play an active role in democracy equips pupils with the knowledge and skills to engage in civic activities and influence decision-making. This unit is timely as it empowers pupils to understand how they can have a voice, exercise their rights and responsibilities, and the impact they can have on their communities and beyond.

  1. How can we contribute to school decision-making?
  2. How can we engage in local democracy?
  3. Should the voting age be reformed?
  4. How can we influence those in power using democratic processes?
  5. How can we make change happen?
