Description

Pupils consider what role the media plays in democracy and how the media is used to hold those in power to account. They consider what responsible journalism is and the impact of misinformation.

Building on their key stage three learning about how the media impacts them this unit explores the important role the media plays within democracy. Through exploring concepts such as responsible journalism, censorship and misinformation pupils critically consider the importance of a free press to society.
