Description

Pupils consider why people migrate, the impact it has on communities, whether migration should be controlled and what support is available to migrants.

Pupils learn about the different reasons why people move around the world as they develop a global perspective and understanding of migration. Building on earlier lessons about communities and global issues, understanding the complexity of migration is crucial for their awareness of diversity and change in communities and society. This knowledge helps them understand the economic, evironmental, social, and political factors driving migration, the complexities of migration globally as well as its impact on societies and the value of human rights and community cohesion.
