Description

This unit introduces pupils to how spreadsheets can be used to organise data and create their own data sets. They will discover the importance of formatting data to support calculations, while also examining how formulas can be used to produce calculated data and how graphs can present this data.

This unit progresses pupils' knowledge and understanding of data, and teaches them how to organise and modify data within spreadsheets. They will learn how to organise data into columns and rows to create their own data set. Pupils will be taught the importance of formatting data to support calculations, while also being introduced to formulas and will begin to understand how they can be used to produce calculated data. Knowledge of spreadsheets is useful preparation for lessons in secondary school and the wider world and these lessons serve as a useful foundation for this.
