Description

In this unit, pupils explore the link between events and actions. Pupils begin by moving a sprite in four directions (up, down, left, and right) and then explore movement within the context of a maze. This unit also introduces programming extensions, through the use of Pen blocks.

In this unit, pupils will explore the links between events and actions. They consolidate prior learning relating to sequencing, using this knowledge to inform how actions can be triggered. Pupils use knowledge of sequencing to investigate the movement of sprites and help understand the application of program sequence. This unit also introduces programming extensions through the use of Pen blocks, and this is useful context for later programming tasks involving pre-programmed software elements.

  1. Moving a sprite
  2. Program a sprite to move around a maze
  3. Using the pen tool in a program
  4. Adding features to a program
  5. Debugging movement
  6. Creating a maze project
