Description

This unit introduces verbs that follow the pattern of connaître in the present and perfect tense and extends pupils' use of impersonal verbs. It also develops mastery of the imperfect tense of regular verbs, set in the context of past and present friendships and activities.

In this unit pupils will return to a familiar context, focusing on friendships and making free time plans, whilst deepening their grasp of higher level structures such as impersonal verbs, learning a new verb pattern in the present tense, and expanding their knowledge of the imperfect tense. This will enable them to make contrasts between their lives when they were younger and today, and to talk about what they were doing when something happened. Being able to confidently switch between tenses is a key skill to be developed further at KS4 and beyond.
