Description

This cultural unit consolidates present tense regular verb patterns, adjectives and adverbs, possessive adjectives and a range of pronouns. In addition it further develops the imperative, including the nous form for 'let's + verb', and teaches the two uses of present participles.

This unit focuses on new knowledge of Francophone culture, exploring the city of Montréal, cultural diversity in Morocco, Francophone sports teams, art, and government. Grammatically this unit revisits much from KS3 and earlier in KS4, but also challenges pupils with the introduction of present participles and further imperative and word pattern rules. Pupils learn to describe, but also to express opinions on, a range of cultural and political topics, and further develop key skills essential at KS4 such as reading and responding to texts, describing photos, translation and extended writing.
