Description

In this unit, pupils use the highly irregular high frequency verb 'faire' in singular persons. They use 'faire' followed by le, la, les and learn the English equivalents 'do' and 'make'. Pupils ask and answer questions using the question word 'quoi'. The SSCs ain/in and è/ê are introduced.

This unit builds on pupils' previous knowledge of singular and plural nouns with the definite articles, which are applied with the highly frequent irregular verb faire in singular persons. Pupils practise asking and answering intonation questions, with the new question word 'quoi' and a range of new vocabulary to extend their communicate competence. Pupils appreciate importance differences in translation, with the English 'do' and 'make' as equivalents for 'faire', They also develop confidence in writing as they manipulate the verb 'faire' in short sentences.
