Description

This unit consolidates -re verbs like entendre, and introduces 'connaître in singular forms. The use of à (meaning to) for masculine countries in introduced, building on existing knowledge of à and en meaning to for cities and feminine countries.The negative 'ne...jamais' is introduced.

This unit embeds present tense knowledge, particularly of -re verbs as pupils talk about what, where and who they know. Canada provides the contextual and cultural backdrop as pupils learn about the country whilst embedding the negative 'ne...pas' and adding 'ne...jamais' in single-verb structures. Pupils develop their confidence in longer writing tasks with new and known high frequency vocabulary.
