Description

Pupils will learn about art made from reclaimed materials. They will explore this theme to make their own animal art in two and three dimensions, applying core art skills and craft techniques.

This unit develops the pupils’ art skills in drawing complex forms such as animals and the fine motor skills they need to create models and sculptures. Pupils will consider our impact on the environment whilst making sustainable art.

  1. Drawing animals using silhouette stencils
  2. Model an animal in playdough or clay
  3. Upcycled art: using reclaimed materials
  4. Sculpture: make a simple animal armature
  5. Build an animal sculpture using reclaimed materials
  6. Reclaimed materials: finalising an upcycled animal sculpture
