Description

In this unit, pupils will explore the world of insects up close, recording their observations using line drawing techniqes. They will develop these drawings through a number of print processes, before creating and realising a design for surface print.

Pupils will practice recording from close observation of primary sources, using line drawing techniques developed in earlier units. They will learn how to transfer drawings into print media and how to develop a design motif. Their explorations of repeat pattern will be developed with more sophisticated compositions in later units.
