Description

Masks have been created and used by many cultures and peoples through the ages, including in contemporary society for film and TV. In this unit, pupils will learn various sculpture techniques, design and make a mask.

This unit introduces new sculpture materials and techniques. Pupils have developed sufficient fine motor control to manipulate materials to realise their intentions at this stage, and to apply their prior knowledge to this new challenge. In this unit pupils will use their knowledge of portraiture and structure of the face in the context of sculpture and 3D design.
