Description

Through investigations and studies of a diverse range of artworks based on water, pupils will make their own observations and records of the subject. They will make water studies in the mediums of collage and paint.

Outcomes in this unit are expressive and open ended, which is an important concept in art. This unit challenges the idea that there should be a single outcome or a ‘right’ way to complete the task. By emphasising creative explorations and original thought this unit demonstrates that there are no right or wrong ways to portray a subject.

  1. How has water been depicted by artists, makers and designers
  2. Sketchbook experimentation: water-like marks
  3. Depicting water with watercolour and collage
  4. Painting with water as a subject
  5. Watercolour water collaboration
  6. Make a collaborative mixed media collage
