Description

This unit examines the pupils’ sense of self and explores their relationships with others. They will make clay figures, small drawings and prints as well as collecting photos. They will design and make sculptures from a wire armature and masking tape, before combining their elements.

Pupils at this stage will be developing a greater sense of self and an awareness of the network of the people in their lives that are important to them. This conceptual unit develops visual communication skills, and pupils find out how other artists and designers have described human relationships.

  1. How relationships have been represented in art and design
  2. Sculpt yourself in modelling clay
  3. Represent people who are important to you through drawing, print and photos
  4. Explore structure and form through drawing
  5. Make a three dimensional form using wire and masking tape
  6. Combine design elements into a sculpture
