Description

In this unit, pupils have the opportunity to explore a rich text on the subject of family. It has an important historical and cultural context and serves as a rich text in which pupils can see the value of high frequency vocabulary in aiding their comprehension of authentic texts.

In this unit, pupils acknowledge and appreciate the extent to which their progress in high frequency vocabulary, a core verb lexicon and work with SSCs allows them to access, read and understand and culture-rich authentic text. Pupils read and understand that text and reactivate their prior knowledge of the verb être and knowledge of cognates and adjective endings to understand and communicate the message of the poem. Pupils are then invited to respond creatively either orally or in writing to demonstrate the increasing communicative confidence .
