Description

This unit examines the use of direct and indirect object pronouns in the past tense, infinitives used as nouns, and the perfect tense when used as the equivalent of the present perfect. Furthermore, pupils will meet the present tense with depuis, être en train de, and venir de + infinitive.

Having previously met both the perfect tense and direct and indirect object pronouns, pupils will now combine these skills in this unit. They will meet texts focusing on contemporary contexts such as immigration and environmental issues and will respond by completing extended, scaffolded writing using prior knowledge as well as new, higher level structures. Pupils learn to communicate about real, topical matters of global importance using a range of tenses and grammatical structures which will be useful in a variety of future KS4 themes.
