Description

In this unit, knowledge of -er verbs in the present tense is embedded, and intonation and inversion questions with and without question words are revisited. Pupils contrast present and perfect tenses with 'avoir' for -er verbs, faire and dire. The SSCs um,un and -gn- are taught.

Pupils know the present tense of -er verbs and in this unit they consolidate it together with the negative and asking and answering questions. Opportunities are provided here to embed this skill in the context of everyday school activities. Pupils are then introduced to the perfect tense with avoir (je form) and the formation of regular past participles of -er verbs, of faire and dire.
