Description

Pupils extend their knowledge of 'être'and 'avoir' to include plural forms. 'il y a' is introduced with numbers and nouns. Pupils consolidate regular plural 's' on nouns and adjectives, adjective agreement and indefinite articles, including the plural 'des'. Sound spelling links are revisited.

This unit further expands pupils' verb lexicon with plural forms of avoir and être. Revisiting the key irregular verb patterns before extending them is essential to embed the core knowledge. Pupils also consolidate their knowledge of noun and adjective plurals and agreement, and the use of indefinite articles. This is applied to speaking and listening pairwork, and photo descriptions to consolidate communicative competence.
