Description

In this unit, pupils use singular forms of common irregular -re and -ir verbs whilst forming inversion questions with 'tu' and il,elle'. They also practise inversion questions with two-verb structures and with five different question words. SSCs ain,in and ai are revisited.

In this unit pupils continue to expand their verb lexicon with singular forms of common irregular -re verbs (for example prendre and dire) and -ir verbs (for example sortir and venir). Pupils extend their range of question forms, adding word order changes with inversion questions, including with two-verb structures and question words comment, où, quand, quoi and pourquoi. Pupils develop their communicative competence with questions and answers in personalising their answers, asking about likes and dislikes and conducting an interview.

  1. Conversations: verbs like 'prendre' and 'dire'
  2. Inversion questions
  3. Questions about others: verbs 'sortir', 'venir' and two-verb inversion questions
  4. Questions about others: inversion questions (il/elle)
  5. Information questions: inversion questions with question words
  6. Different types of questions
