Day - Any 24 hour period.
Week - Any seven day time period.
Month - One of the 12 parts of the year.
Common misconception
Pupils will need to be able to count in steps of 7 and 12 to succeed in this lesson and have a good recall of the 7 and 12 times tables. Calculation errors will occur frequently if not.
Consider pre-teaching pupils still insecure with this, and / or providing scaffolding such as a times tables grid.
A double number line is explored as a means of conceptualising the conversion between days and weeks. This can also be used as a support or a scaffold for pupils during Practice tasks.
