Keywords
Goal - a desired result or outcome that a person or group aims to achieve
Method - a way of doing something to help you complete your project or reach your goal
Success - when you achieve what you planned or aimed to do in your project
Common misconception
That it is negative or 'tempting fate' to consider what could go wrong.
Considering what could go wrong is a sensible part of planning for your goal, this helps to identify possible barriers and work to overcome them.
To further contextualise this topic, pupils could complete SMART targets or a SWOT analysis about something they feel very familar with e.g. preparing for a test, winning a football tournament etc. This might help them understand these methods in a context that they are more familiar with.
