Key learning points
- The SSC [que] sounds as in 'porque'.
- The verb 'estar' means 'to be, being' and is used for location.
- ‘Hola’ means ‘hello’ and ‘hasta luego’ means ‘bye’.
- When a word ends in a consonant, ‘-es’ is added for plural.
Keywords
[que] - pronounced as in ‘porque’
Plural - refers to more than one of something
Common misconception
To make a noun plural in Spanish, just add -s.
Spanish nouns ending in a consonant add -es for plural.
The speaking task C3 works best if pupils have copies of the worksheet. However, the version modelled in the lesson slides still requires understanding of the plural items as long as the listening pupil faces away from the board.
