      Key learning points

      1. The determiner 'welch-' means 'which'. Its ending changes according to the gender and case of the noun that follows.
      2. The determiner 'dies-' means ‘this’. Its ending changes in the same way as 'welch-' .
      3. 'Welch-' and 'dies-' are very helpful for identifying items when shopping.
      4. In a role-play, it is important to include at least one verb in each short phrase. You must also ask one question.
      5. 'Sowohl...als auch...' means 'both...and...', 'derselbe, dieselbe, dasselbe' mean 'the same' and 'jene(r)' means 'that'.

      When completing Tasks B2 and B3, it would be helpful to display European clothing sizes alongside UK sizes so that students can create more authentic conversations, using their own information if desired.
