Lesson details

Key learning points

Common misconception

The natural features of England haven't changed much in 1000 years.

England has changed enormously in 1000 years! The coastline has shifted so that it would be unrecognisable for a traveller from 1000 years ago, and other natural features, such as The Fens, have shrunk and changed considerably.

Keywords

  • Peninsula - a landform that extends from a mainland and is surrounded by water on three sides

If your students are unable to visit Pevensey Castle themselves, there are virtual tours available online that can be accessed instead.
