Demonstrating shot variations
Key Stage 4
Year 10
Physical education
Being able to accurately replicate underarm or overarm clears and a smash shot are the foundations to performance in a game of badminton. The shot should look distinctly different in terms of shuttle flight path. It's important to understand how to adjust your body position depending on whether you are playing an underarm clear, an overarm clear, or a smash. To hit underarm, you'll need to be to the side of the shuttle, whereas overarm shots require you to be underneath. For a smash, you need to be further back with the shuttle in front, whereas for a clear, you can be a little further forward relative to the shuttle.
