Key learning points

  1. The irregular verb 'estar' is used for location and states.
  2. 'Estoy' means 'I am'; 'estás' means 'you are' and 'está' means 'she, he, it is' when talking about location and states.
  3. Masculine adjectives that end in 'o' change to an 'a' when the person or animal being described is female.
  4. Adjectives ending in –e or -z can describe a female and male person or animal; they do not change.
