Threads

Why this why now

Having previously been introduced to vector graphics, pupils now deepen their understanding of how to create precise, scalable digital artwork. Building on earlier work with objects, layers and grouping, this unit develops pupils’ ability to design and refine complex graphics with accuracy and control. Learning these skills prepares pupils to consider how clear and professional visuals are essential for communicating ideas effectively across any context.

Prior knowledge requirements

  • Pupils recognise that digital devices can create and use image artefacts.
  • Pupils have experience of using drawing and painting packages to create both vector and bitmap images.
  • Pupils understand how the needs of an audience affect the way that information is best presented.
