      1. Adjectives are words that describe nouns.
      2. Adjectives can describe singular or plural common nouns.
      3. Adjectives can describe proper nouns.
      4. An adjective often comes before the noun it is describing.
      5. Adjectives help the reader picture the noun.

      Keywords

      • Adjective - a word that describes a noun

      • Describe - add detail to

      Common misconception

Pupils might struggle to identify adjectives within a sentence and confuse them with other words.

They will only be exposed to adjectives that come before nouns initially so that they become confident in identifying and using them.

      Teacher tip

Use objects inside a feely bag instead of images for the We do/I do slide and Task A.
