      Common misconception

      There is just one way of saying 'you' in French like in English.

      There are two ways of saying 'you' in French. We use 'tu' for 'you singular' and 'vous' for 'you plural'.

      Teacher tip

      It is helpful to have a clear mime to show the difference between 'you singular' (tu) and 'you plural' (vous) in French. Maybe pointing directly at someone for 'tu' and a breaststroke action, pointing to a range of people, for 'vous'.
