Vocabulary and transcripts for this lessons

      Key learning points

      1. Direct object pronouns are: 'me', 'te', 'le'/'la'/'l'', 'nous', 'vous' and 'les'. They precede the verb.
      2. Indirect object pronouns are: 'me', 'te', 'lui', 'nous', 'vous' and 'leur'. They precede the verb.
      3. 'Moi', 'toi', 'lui', 'elle', 'nous', 'vous', 'eux', 'elles' are used as emphatic pronouns.

      Keywords

      • Pronoun - word that takes the place of a noun, like 'it', 'you', 'she'

      • Distractor - incorrect but plausible answer option in reading / listening tasks, designed to test your attention to detail

      • Synonym - word that has the same or very similar meaning of another word

      Common misconception

There isn't much I can do to prepare for the French reading exam.

Regularly revising vocabulary is an excellent method of preparation for the reading exam as well as being mindful of strategies such as spotting distractors and using synonyms to find the correct answer.
