      • Thermometer - A thermometer is a piece of equipment for measuring temperature.

      Common misconception

      Pupils may think that it is always sunny in summer.

      Explanation that there are different types of weather in summer but the temperature is generally warmer than during other seasons.

      This lesson should be taught in summer so that pupils have the opportunity to observe what the weather is like at this time of year.
